CL65 6×12 is preferably used in CIL because it is continuously being moved to different stages of the process. Having a bigger particle size will reduce risk of breakage and loss of small particles, which contain Gold.CL65 8×16 are preferred in CIC due to high adsorption rate per surface area and the fact that the carbon is stationery will also eliminate the risk of breakage. Extruded high activity CL265S will even do a better job than CL65 6×12 because of its bigger particle size when carbon is being moved from at different stages of the mining process.
